The Vice Presidents Club of Leamington FC
The Don Hartwell Award
Each year, the Vice Presidents Club makes an award in memory of Don Hartwell, who served Leamington FC for over forty years, including being one of the two founder directors when the Club was reconstituted as a limited company in 1983.
The award recognises someone who has shown exceptional commitment and passion for the Club making a contribution on or off the field towards its rebirth and success.
2007 Award - Idris Elms
Idris won the FA's Groundsman of the Year Award for the 2005/06 season at Step 5 of the non-league pyramid and has made it to this year's finals. His prize included a day at a Barclays Premiership match and he enjoyed a visit to Tottenham Hotspur, discussing pitch maintenance and looking enviously at the range of equipment. The match against Reading was the first time that Idris had seen a football match at any ground, including the New Windmill.
